Cinque Terre is a group of 5 towns (Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore) wich are located in the liguria region in the north-west of Italy.
It is known for its colourful and fascinating landscapes of the ligurian sea, mountains with rustic houses, vineyards that run along the coast lines and of course beaches! But above all, the 5 towns of the Cinque Terre are very pintoresque and as cozy as you can get.
My favorite towns are Monterosso al Mare and Vernazza, they are very close between each other and it so happens that a walking path between this two towns its generally open for tourists, all you need to do is to buy an entry ticket to enjoy the Cinque Terre area/train transportation and lots of energy.
The experience of walking this path is not easy to describe, as a regular tourist with no hiking experience, making my way across the path to the top (and down!) of the mountains, surrounded of nature, vineyards, limoncello trees and of course the saturated and blinding colours of the sea, I couldn’t think of a better way to remember it than to photograph my entire hike, even if it meant having to carry some extra weight!
So here we go to the hike:
